A deep learning approach has been adopted for antibiotic discovery. The approach showed that it identifies potential antibiotics from large chemical libraries, resulting in the discovery of halicin and abaucin from the Drug Repurposing Hub (comprising around 6,000 molecules) and other antibacterial compounds from approximately 107 million molecules in the ZINC15 library. This approach relies on Chemprop, a platform for graph neural networks, which are typically black box models, or models that are not readily interpreted or explained. ...less

One notable observation is that the leading video generation models are almost exclusively diffusion-based (for one example, see Imagen Video). On the other hand, LLMs are widely recognized as the de facto standard due to their exceptional learning capabilities across various modalities, including language, code, and audio (e.g., AudioPaLM). Most notably, Audiobox lets people use natural language prompts to describe a sound or type of speech they want to generate. If someone wants to generate a soundscape, for example, they can give the model a text prompt like, “A running river and birds chirping.”
